Just ordered my Gourmet Pizza Made Easy kit from Barnes & Noble. Saw the boxed “kit” at a store this afternoon for $34.99. Was on the way out the door when I spotted it, but didn’t want to stand in line. was annoyed on the way home I didn’t buy it as the price was exceptionally good. had been planning to buy a pizza stone and peel next time I was at a gourmet kitchen store. decided to see if I could order it online. Huge surprise, it is only $20.00 (online). Fantastic value.
Quick question. Do you coat the pizza stone with flour or cornmeal so the dough doesn’t stick to it. One woman on amazon.com gave the kit a very negative review because (she said) the directions in her kit said to coat the stone with oil, which ruined the stone and smoked up her kitchen. She had to throw the stone away! Everyone else gave the kit rave reviews…
Curious why this is not available directly from amazon.com.
Looking forward to saving money making gourmet pizzas at home. The Quality (and size) of take out pizza has dropped drastically!

Thanks for your question. No, we don’t use anything on the stone, nothing. You can place your dough right onto the stone and to get it to move easily, when preparing the pizza sprinkle some corn meal on your breadboard or work surface; those kernels will help the bottom of your pizza ‘roll’ onto the stone.
